I’ve been stuck in the same hair routine for years now, so I’m trying to experiment a bit more. Today I tried a bun which turned out pretty cute, so I thought I’d share a little tutorial. The bun turned out really messy, next time I’ll try to get it a bit more slick, but it works. Here’s what you do:
Step 1: Start out with wavy or curly hair
Step 2: Create a triangle from your ears and up to the crown of your head, and secure all the hair from the front in a temporary bun on the top of your head.
Step 3: Tease the hair in the back a bit to add volume to the bun, all the way down to the lengths. This is especially important if you have short hair, but for us long haired girls, this step can be skipped.
Step 4: Create a loose side bun using a clear elastic hair band. It doesn’t matter if it’s very loose, you’ll secure it with bobby pins later on.
Step 5: Twirl half of the hair from the front of your head, and wrap it around the bun. Secure with bobby pins, but leave the area on top of the bun free for bobby pins for now, as the other section of twirled hair will go under this section.
Step 6: When it’s nice and secure, do the same thing on the other side. This time, put the twirled hair under the twirled hair that’s already secured, wrap it around the bun and secure with bobby pins. To make sure that everything stays in place, add lots of bobby pins, also through the bun. Then you’re done!
So easy, right? I love wearing my hair up, as it always gets in the way. This summer I’ll wear this little hairdo’ with some flower clips, and I’ll tease my hair a bit less so that it doesn’t look so messy. Are you guys gonna try this?♥
