..or yesterday’s for my Norwegian readers. Brunch at Pastis was just as lovely as it sounds, Maria is such a sweetheart. I also met a lovely blog reader outside of Pastis, which was actually quite funny. I was just waiting for Maria outside of Pastis, saw this gorgeous and stylish lady, admired her for a moment then she suddenly came over, was Norwegian and a reader of my blog. I just love it when you guys come over to say hi, and it’s especially fun in NY as it always catches me by surprise.

I was so thrilled when I found these jeans at LF Stores, I’ve practically lived in them since I got them. What’s not so cool is that they’re suddenly like two sizes bigger than they were when I bought them, and at this point they feel more like sweatpants. I wonder if it’s possible to return them, they were quite expensive after all, and I wasn’t told this was gonna happen… Any sales attendants who know what the policy on that is? Excuse the pissed off look in the pictures by the way, I’ve gotten the worst cold and had such a headache when we took pictures. Sunglasses and Advil for the win!

We also went for a little walk on the Highline (a must for NY visitors) before it was closed off because of the hurricane. Love that place!

I’m calling it a night now, and I’m so nervous to look out the window tomorrow morning. Hopefully it won’t be as dramatic as everyone says, but I guess I have to stay inside tomorrow and Tuesday. Boooooring!!!! Nighty night sweet readers♥♥

  1. Lonneke has posted a basic survival guide at organiceyourlife.com. Dear Cath, please take it seriously. I think it’s also important to be cautious after the main eye of the storm has passed. Time after time, with Katrina and Irene and many others, there is a propensity to relax after the worst of the wind passes, but there is always a lag between that and when the really bad problems can start, because the flooding takes a while to accumulate in the rivers, etc before they overflow, and Sandy has many characteristics that are new and unknown beforehand. Please have water and food and be careful honey,

  2. Lovely pictures! Your new jacket looks great! I need to go back to NY asap just because of the highline!! It hasn’t been there when I was in NY last. :)
    I’m sure you’ll be fine! Otherwise you’d have been evacuated like the southern parts of Manhattan. I’ll be thinking of you!

  6. I don’t mean to cause panic but you are so brave. If I was in New York now I would not be talking about boredom, I would be so scared. But you seem much braver than me. I hope everything goes fine. Be careful though.

  7. Jeans utvider seg alltid, så det er lurt å kjøpe de litt for små. De som jobber i butikken burde vite hvor mye de utvider seg, så det er lurt å spørre de før man kjøper. Du kan prøve å få bytta buksa, men det er nok ikke veldig stor sannsynlighet for at det går. De krymper igjen i vask, da :)

  12. It’s not funny that you are not taking this serious. This is the most dangerous storm to hit the USA in perhaps forever, so I hope that you listen to the radio, what locals are saying and that you stay safe girl!

  30. Jeg jobber i klesbutikk og vi tar inn bukser som har utvidet seg ekstremt mye. Alle bukser utvider seg litt, men skal ikke utvide seg flere størrelser så jeg ville ha reklamert på den ;)

  33. Du får nok ikke lever buksen igjen, med mindre buksen har utvidet seg mer enn 2størrelser. Kjøp alltid den minste buksen du får på deg. Den regelen gjelder alltid;) Bukser skal helst vasken på 30 grader og alltid vrenges. (helst skal de fryses,ikke vaskes;)) bukser er ikke en forbruksvare, behandler du den riktig, vil fasong og form vare i åår om du så klart har investert da;)

  36. Du har hvertfall krav på å få byttet størrelse eller byttet til en annen vare i og med at du ikke fikk beskjed om at buksen ville gå såpass mye ut. Som selger er du påkrevd å fortelle kunden om varen. Hvis du har kvitteringen vil nok alt gå helt fint:-)

    Som en ivrig jeans-selger så skal jeg lære deg ett lite trisk. Når du kjøper jeans så spør alltid om det er stretch-jeans og om det er mye stretch, er det mye/vanlig så skal du kjøpe de så små at du så vidt får de igjen, fordi de vanligvis vier seg ut 1-2 str, innimellom 3 (!!) sjekk gjerne på vaskelappen hvor mye stretch de inneholder, alt over 2% sier at de vil vie seg ut mye, og du må kjøpe de så små som mulig. De skal IKKE være behagelige første gangen, men de blir FANTASTISKE etterhvert. Tolmodighet må til;)

    Du kan gå tilbake og si at dette ikke ble nevnt, og siden det er såpass dyre bukser er det forventet at dette skal sies ifra. (Dette er polisy i vanlige kjede butikker i Norge at dette SKAL nevnes rundt jeans), og deretter kreve å bytte de inn en størrelse (eller to) mindre. Bare legg vekt på at du ikke ble informert om det, og de skal kunne rette det opp med en ny bukse;)

  38. I Norge kunne du hvertfall ha levert de tilbake om du får pengene tilbake er jeg usikker på, hvis ikke får du sikkert med deg en ny bukse i en størrelse mindre? Varen er hvertfall ikke slik du med rimelighet kunne forventet da du kjøpte den. Det er sikkert lurt å ta med kvitteringen, men det skal ikke være nødvendig ved reklamasjon så lenge du kan bevise at varen er kjøpt hos dem. Lykke til! Hater å kjøpe bukser da det nesten er umulig å finne en som er perfekt (ikke vier seg ut og er behagelig å ha på). Bik Bok sin nye super flex kollekson er å anbefale :). Håper det går bra med deg i NY til tross for uværet!

    I’d have a question to that as I’ve just had a look at their website.
    Is it like a hotel, with really private rooms? (if I take an single large room)
    or do you have to be a part of the ‘community’ there?

  40. Hei hei, jeg tror du fint kan returnere buksene, USA er jo stort sett helt sykt på kundeservice. Jeg har levert tilbake så mye rart som har vært brukt masse og de bare “suuure, would you like your refund in cash or back to your card?” CASH MONEY! Jeg sitter og ser på CNN om denne stormen, ikke la deg skremme av alt styret, bare hold deg inne så går dette så fint. :)
