The Dining Room

Good morning lovelies♥ Today I’m so excited to show you my new dining room! It’s definitely the space in the house that’s gone through the most changes. I liked it before too, but I felt like it lacked personality and warmth. White table, black chairs, and a big chandelier. I feel like it’s what everyone else has, and since my house is very light, the white table made it look sort of sterile, if that makes sense. Now my dining room area is filled with natural surfaces, mirrored surfaces, and elements of gold and silver. I am so happy with the result, I can’t even describe it with words! I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking in this post, and let me assure you, there’s a lot of pictures. Let’s start with my favorite piece, the dining table!

How gorgeous is the surface of this table?! I absolutely adore it. And of course, it matches my coffee table perfectly. But my favorite part of this table must be the mirrored table legs. I mean, have you seen anything this cool before? I love how unique it is, this is perfection in table form. By the way, I have sold my black chairs, and I have ordered transparent ones, but they haven’t arrived yet. I wanted transparent ones so that the chairs won’t stand in the way of the amazing mirrored legs.

I can’t even get over my love for this table. I love that the giraffe pops up in almost all the pictures by the way, haha. I got it at an art center in the township Langa in South Africa, and all the proceeds went to teaching the children how to make art. It cost thousands of kroners, but it was worth every single penny. I smile every time I look at it!

Yes, that is indeed a dining room couch you’re seeing! Why haven’t I discovered this amazing piece of furniture before?? A couch is so much more comfy than chairs, and I spend so much time in this comfy couch. I always eat here, blog from here, relax here and of course, read Vogue here..

Then let’s move on to the decoration!

First up; These gold apples. How cute are they?!

You can find them here♥ My bestie Amalie’s five years old son even said to her; ‘Mommy, can we re-decorate the house? I want our house to look like aunt Cathrine’s, with those gold apples‘. Haha, how cute!! Apparently I’m not the only one who loves them. They are also available in silver and white.

The shelves I’ve already shown you, but I just have to show you again. They put the cherry on the sundae in the dining room space, and of course they match the table legs perfectly. I love them!

Small platters always come in handy. Right now I’m using it for healthy snacks, but after that I thought I’d keep my rings in it.

I showed you the amazing silver tray with leather handles in my previous ‘home make over‘ post, but I just had to get one for my dining room table as well. So chic!

Then of course we have my new lamps. They bring such a cool and industrial touch to the space, and I love that they match both the dining room couch and the living room couch.

Champagne coolers always come in handy, it’s such a nice touch when having people over, don’t you think? When I’m not cooling champagne in this, I use it for fruit, which is perfect.

It’s not all silver and grey in my dining room space. These super cute minty candle holders brings a subtle pop of color to the mix.

This post is coming to an end soon, I promise, hah. I just got so eager with the pictures! Just two more, then I’ll stop..

I seriously feel like the luckiest girl in the world to live in this space! I wouldn’t change a thing, I’m so incredibly happy with it. It’s just my style, and it has so much more personality now than earlier with only black and white.

  4. Wow, you decorated your place the way I like it! It is so elegant and beautiful. Table is really amazing, I like that look of “second hand” wood, if you know what I want to say with that. It is so warm and chic. And couch looks so comfortable. I like colour palette a lot, and apples are so adorable :) But I have to tell you that picture No7 is the best, because it discovered Bella’s corner for eating, haha. Am I right? :D

    I like combination of colours: silver, white, black, grey and gold, for basic elements, and that some pieces in pink or something like that, that will open space. Like you done that with the flowers of orchid. That corner is unreal beautiful :)

    Can’t wait to see other changes you’ve made in your beautiful house :)

    But, haha, did you man had any influence on your choices? :D

  7. Helt nydelig! Ser både moderne og fancy ut samtidig som det virker hjemmekoselig :) Lurt å ha en sofa med høye bein istedet for individuelle stoler. Digger forresten også at dere har en trapp opp til kjøkkenet!

  32. Veldig fint! Liker fargen på gulvet deres :) Synes den industrielle trenden er stilig. Jeg er minimalist når det kommer til innredning og er ikke særlig fan av det romantiske så jeg hater de der “Home”, “Love” greiene folk har/hadde overalt :p

    (Har du ikke lest ut det Vogue-bladet snart forresten.. ? ;) )
