You guys know how much I love my Olympus Pen Ep-L7 by now, right? It has opened a whole new world for me blog-wise. The days of carrying a huge and super heavy camera around everywhere are over! This camera weighs like nothing, and the pictures turn out just as good as with any SLR camera, if not better. This must be my best present tips for Christmas, who doesn’t need a good camera? Whether you just want to capture special moments from your everyday life, pretty snapshots for your blog or bring it with you on vacation – everyone should have a good camera! The 45mm-lens is the one I use the most by far. It creates a blurry background while the focus point is super clear, in other words perfect for portraits and outfit shots, just to name a few. I have several friends who have put this camera on their wishlist after trying mine, and I tell everyone that they simply have to put the 45mm-lens on their wishlist as well. It creates picture magic! 

A lot of people think that pictures snapped with their phones cover their need. Yes, phones nowadays can take pretty good photos, but let’s face it; The difference from pictures taken with phones to pictures taken with a good camera is so huge! One of the most fun things I know is look back at old pictures, whether it’s from my childhood or just pictures taken from a recent vacation. I would be so upset if I wanted to look back at pictures in ten years, and only had iPhone snapshots to look at! Here you can see the difference between iPhone and Olympus Pen Ep-L7. The pictures are taken at the same time with the same lighting. 

As you can see, the difference is huge! The pictures turn out so much more delicate with the Olympus Pen. The picture doesn’t even really need any editing, but I like to make my blog pics light  and bright, so I made the last picture a tiny bit lighter. It’s time to tell you more about my amazing new camera, Olympus Pen E-PL7. I’ve had it for about a month, so I’ve had plenty of time to test it properly. To be honest, I’m just falling more and more in love with this extremely good, handy and not to mention pretty camera! I thought I’d list my top five favorite things about the camera in this post. First up; 

 

• The picture quality

​The picture quality is the most important thing with any camera. The quality of the photos I snap with my Olympus Pen completely blow me away. They look like they’ve been taken with an SLR camera!! For outfit and detail pictures I use the 45mm lens, which ensures that the object is perfectly in focus, and everything else becomes blurry, just the way I like it. For other pictures I use the standard lens, which fits more into the frame, and gives a very even focus throughout the picture. I definitely use the 45mm lens the most, but I always carry the standard lens in my purse. The attachable flash is also always in my purse, you never know when it might come in handy. • The wifi connection/selftimer

​This feature is so incredibly genius!! First of all, you can connect your camera to your phone through the wifi in the camera. Open the app ‘OI.Share’ on your phone, and you can import your favorite pics right to your phone, and of course, straight to Instagram. This is so handy, as the picture quality of the Olympus Pen and iPhone can’t even be compared. But my absolute favorite feature is the seltimer! You can set up your camera somewhere, then choose the selftimer option in the app, and you can actually see yourself through the camera lens, right on your phone screen! It’s hard to explain this, and I’ve ended up having to show it to everyone I’ve tried to explain it to, hah. But anway, when you’re happy with the picture you see on your screen, you just tap the screen and you’ll hear a click from the camera, and a picture is taken!

A new feature on this camera is that you can also adjust the camera settings in the app. I usually use manual settings, and I can adjust the exposure, aparture and ISO on my phone. Normally I’ll do a test shot, run back to the camera and adjust the settings, then do it several times until I’m happy with the settings. Now I can do all that from my phone! • The flip screen

​As if this camera wasn’t perfect enough for a blogger like me as it is; it also has a flip screen! You can just flip the screen downwards, then you can see yourself while you’re snapping a selfie. This is so time-saving, and I’ll get away with taking just a few in stead of a whole bunch hoping that one of them turns out OK. 

 

• The filters

​Forget about photo editing on your phone or computer, with this camera you can add filters to your photograph before you’ve even taken the picture! There are several art filters to choose from,  here are some of my favorite filters (none of the pictures have been edited). Oh, and how cute is that couple kissing in the park? 

• The design

​I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prettier camera, have you?! It looks so girly and retro, and it’s the perfect accessory to any outfit. I actually have it on display on my coffee table when I’m not using it because I find it so pretty. The size is also unbeatable. It’s so small and light that it actually fits in my pocket! It doesn’t get more handy than that..

As I’m sure you understand, I’m beyond happy with this camera, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re a blogger or you’re just looking for a camera to take everyday snapshots and vacation pictures with, this is perfect! The EP-L7 is also cheaper than the EP-5 which I’ve showed you before, so that’s a huge plus. I think this camera is just as good as the other, and more expensive, Olympus camera I have.
