Skin Care Tips

30 Comments | Fashion

As I’ve said before, one of the things I love about Wah Wah is that they give so many good tips that you can do on your own at home. Yesterday my skin therapist Ellen told me that I should steam my skin about twice a week to open my pores. First cleanse and exfoliate, then steam, then put on a cleansing mask and a moisturizing mask. This way the pores open completely, and the masks are absorbed so much better to the skin. It’s also great for getting all sorts of ‘crap’ out of your pores. I tried to find a good steaming machine online, because I’ve had one before which I loved. But then I came over this tips, which works just as well, and is free!!

So here’s what you do. Boil water while you cleanse and exfoliate your skin.

When the water’s boiling, put it on a table, put a towel over your head and put your face above the water, so all the steam goes right to your face. Make sure that the towel covers every area around the water and your face, so all the steam goes to your face and not just out in the room. It’s really really hot, but just have your face as close as you can without it being uncomfortable. Sit for about 10 minutes, and put on the mask of your choice. I just did it and my skin feels so clean, soft and fresh.

I’ll try to do this twice a week, after all it’s free and is a super quick way to get spa results at home :)

I should do this more often!
A beautician once told me a hot towel (which you cut put e.g. in the boiled water) does the same work, then you can also lay down and relax better than hanging over the hot pot :D

I used to do this when I was little when me and my friends would play “spa.” It’s also nice if you put a bit of fragrance or tea bags in the water. It adds a nice refreshing smell!
