Recipe: Healthy Crispy Chicken

It’s time for another recipe, yay! This time it’s actually involving chicken, which is pretty rare here at the house. I just think chicken is so boring, and whenever I make it I always end up eating everything else on the plate, and pass my chicken over to my boyfriend’s plate, haha. Fun fact: I got a bad case of blood poisoning when I was younger, and the night before I had chicken for dinner with my bestie. It had absolutely nothing to do with my blood poisoning, but when I was at the hospital with a 42º fever all I could taste was last night’s chicken, so I have pretty bad associations. Aaaaaanyway, are you guys ready for some delicious crispy chicken for dinner tonight?!

Det er på tide med en ny oppskrift, yay! Denne gangen handler den faktisk om kylling, som er ganske sjeldent her i huset. Jeg syns rett og slett at kylling er så kjedelig, og når jeg likevel lager det ender jeg som oftest opp med å spise alt annet på tallerkenen, og sende kyllingen over til kjærestens tallerken, haha. Fun fact: Jeg fikk blodforgiftning da jeg var yngre, og kvelden før hadde jeg og bestevenninnen min spist kylling til middag. Kyllingen hadde absolutt ikke noen forbindelse med blodforgiftningen, men da jeg lå på sykehuset med 42 i feber og hadde det helt jævlig, var kyllingen fra middagen kvelden før alt jeg kunne smake. Ikke så bra assosiasjoner, med andre ord. Uansett! Er dere klare for deilig crispy chicken til middag i kveld?!

This was just so YUMMY! We had my sister over for dinner, and we all absolutely loooved it. I know I say this every time, but you just have to make this. Here’s what you need:

◊ One chicken filet for each person
◊ A bag of bacon crisps (The real kind, not just the bacon flavored chips)
◊ A bag of shredded parmesan
◊ One egg
◊ The salad ingredients of your choosing
◊ Dipping sauces. I used sweet and sour, aioli and tzatziki

Dette var bare så GODT! Vi hadde søsteren min over på middag, og vi elsket det alle sammen. Jeg vet at jeg sier dette hver gang, men dere må bare lage dette! Her er hva du trenger:

◊ En kyllingfilet per person
◊ En pose baconsvor/bacongull (Ikke chips med baconsmak)
◊ En pose revet parmesan
◊ Ett egg
◊ Valgfrie salatingredienser 
◊ Sauser til dipp. Jeg brukte sursøt saus, aioli og tzatziki

Start by crushing the bacon crisps in a mixer or blender. I love this blender, it’s so easy to use and so easy to clean!

Start med å knuse baconsvoret i en blender. Jeg er så glad i denne, den er så lett i bruk og rask å vaske! 

Cut the chicken filets into small pieces. Whip the egg, and mix it with the chicken so that the bacon crumbs and parmesan will attach to it. I just put all the chicken and the egg in a plastic bag and mixed it in there. Mix the bacon crumbs and the parmesan together on a plate, and roll all the pieces of chicken in it, before cooking it in oil. I cooked a little chicken at the time, as I had quite a lot. While the chicken is on the stove, mix together the salad.

Skjær opp kyllingfiletene i strimler. Pisk egget, og bland dette med kyllingen så baconsmulene og parmesanen festes ordentlig. Jeg blandet bare kyllingen og egget i en plastpose, superenkelt! Bland baconsmulene og parmesanen på et fat, og rull alle kyllingstrimlene i det, før du steker de i litt olje. Jeg stekte litt og litt kylling, ettersom det ble litt mye i pannen. Mens kyllingen er i pannen, lager du salaten og danderer fint på tallerknene. 

Then you’re done! It seriously tasted like normal crispy chicken, and it’s super good for you. Ah, I’m getting a watery mouth just thinking about it.

Voila! Dette smakte virkelig som vanlig crispy chicken, og det er kjempesunt. Mmm, jeg får vann i munnen av å tenke på det! 

Serve with the dipping sauces of your choosing. As mentioned, I served with aioli, sweet and sour sauce and tzatziki. My favorite was the sweet and sour one, but all of them tasted fantastic with the chicken!

Servér med valgfrie dipping sauser. Som jeg nevnte over, valgte jeg aioli, sursøt saus og tzatziki. Favoritten min var den sursøte, men alle smakte himmelsk sammen med kyllingen.

 Crispy crispy!

    whoaa that looks sooo good! definitely gonna try that one. considering there’s some bacon in there ( well more or less, right..) i might even convince my bf to eat it ;) which blender is that, by the way? it looks really handy, but i don’t think i’ve ever seen it before!

      Haha, absolutely! It has a crunchy taste of bacon. If you want to add more bacon, you could chop up tiny pieces of bacon and put it in the salad, that’s so yummy :) I’m not sure exactly what it’s called unfortunately, but if you show a picture in a store I’m sure you’ll find it :*

    Jeg lagde middag inspirert av denne oppskriften idag :D jeg kunne ikke unne meg å kjøpe parmesan eller aioli, tzatziki og sursøt saus, så jeg kjørte på med en litt alternativ variant. #fattigstudenttilværelse ♡

    Made it today!!:) Sooooo good. Thank you for the recipe. Also you remembered me to do tzaziki, I ate it in Santorini but never tryed to do it at home, so now i made it and it was soooo easy and good :) Yeiii, thanks!

    Når du skriver 1 pose baconcrisp – hvor mye er det sånn ca.? Jeg har småposer med ekte “fleskesvær” fra Danmark, derfor ikke samme mengde som kanskje er i den eneste posen som finnes i Norge? Fikk du paneringen til å sitte ffast på kyllingbitene under stekingen, eller ramlet det meste av? Det er jo godt når paneringen dekker hele kyllingbiten og ikke ligger ved siden av, men jeg vet ikke om det er vrient å få til? Jeg skal definitivt prøve dette. De vietnamesiske ferske vårrullene “dine” med peanut-hoisin-saus, er blitt en familiefavoritt hos oss, både ungene og vi voksne digger den og vi lager den stadig – takk :-)

      135 gram var det i min :) En del datt litt av, men jeg helte bare alt som hadde løsnet over kyllingen da jeg serverte, så jeg syns ikke det gjorde noe :) Såå bra, jeg får helt vann i munnen av å tenke på de :D ❤
