My Take On Spa

So as you know, yesterday was spent being pampered and receiving lots of spa treatments. Did I like it? I don’t know.. I mean, of course I like jacuzzis and massages and facials! But it was sort of uncomfortable at the same time.. I don’t know if it was in an attempt to sell me lots of products, but some of the skin therapists were very eager to tell me everything that was wrong with my skin.. “Oh, you have such dry skin! And oh my god, look at those pigment spots, and you have so many veins in you face” and blah blah blah. I think you sort of loose the whole point of going to the spa, when you feel more horrible about yourself when your done, than you did when you were going in. My absolute favorite was the Thalgo treatment! The skin therapist, Stine, was so sweet and nice, and I loved the products! Everyone who enjoys spas and wants to get good offers, should check out this site, which just opened today! Personally, I enjoy home spas just as much..

  2. Ja, det er så mange terapeuter som har vært på et eller annet salgskurs som virkelig skal pakke på deg masse produkter enda du er fornøyd med de du allerede har. Føler meg alltid sånn etter jeg har vært hos frisøren også! Får virkelig høre alt som er galt med håret :P

  4. Skjønner deg så utrolig godt! Det er stor forskjell på å informere på en faglig og vennlig måte, og å rett og slett bare være skikkelig nedverdigende. Har hørt mye bra om Thalgo, så skjønner godt at du likte den :)

  6. wow, sånn skal det ikke være. man drar på spa (de fleste vil jeg tro) for å få en opplevelse, ikke bare en ansiktsmaske (det kan man jo gjøre hjemme). Det vet alle som jobber på spa og, vil jeg tro, så det hørtes ut som veldig dårlig oppførsel. Jeg tar gjerne imot råd fra hudpleiere, de har jo utdanning, men jeg betaler ikke for å rakkes ned på! You go girl. Hjemmespa er deilig. Slipper å kle på deg og, og “spa” i pysjen er ikke feil ;)

  11. Så dårlig! Jeg føler det ofte er sånn hos frisøren også, men noen er flinke og bare velmenende, og sier hva man kan gjøre for at håret skal bli enda sunnere og finere, istedenfor å si rett ut hvor “ille” det er. En liten forskjell, men mye bedre spør du meg!

  12. Well I think you should demand at least a partial refund. To me , that’s unnacceptably rude service. This has happened to me once in a while at the haircut place. You are correct, it is simply a way to sell alot of sh-t that you don’t need. But a spa visit is not the forum to do that. I think it would be o.k. and the right way would be to gently probe the customer to ask if there is anything that they personally have been looking for to enhance whatever, and if that’s the case, then the customer can think for themselves and just answer, ‘well, yes, I have been looking for a product that will… whatever’, then it is not insulting to the customer, and yet they can still maybe sell a product. You’re beautiful Cath and I bet your skin is better than those rude therapists. Well at least Stine was nice, I think a service like that should have the customer complete a little survey card after the trip to help improve service and correct the problem, then it’s a win-win thing.
