I’ve gotten a few questions about how I use the hair rollers, where I got them and so on, so I thought I’d make a post on it :) This method gives you the prettiest Victoria’s Secret curls. It is, however, time consuming, so I almost never do it. I think I’m gonna start doing it more often though, because I love the result, and it holds for days :)
Here is what I do
♥ This works best on newly washed hair, so I wash my hair and blow dry it, so it’s clean and straight.
♥ I divide my hair into sections. I start on the top of my head, then work my way down. I have a small amount of hair in each section, but not too little. Just figure out what works for you :)
♥ Then we’re ready to start the curlin’! I grab the first section of hair I want to roll up, and I curl it with my straightening iron first (I made an amateur video a long time ago about that here). When the whole length is curled with the straightening iron, I don’t let go of it, but immediately roll the hear up on the hair roller. Make sure it’s nice and tight. My hair rollers are the velcro ones. Then I set it with a bobby pin, and continue until all of the sections are done.
♥ I use small rollers on the top, and medium and big ones farther down.
♥ Make sure all the rollers are tight, then spray with a strong hold hair spray.
♥ I just have the rollers in while I do my makeup, get dressed, eat breakfast or whatever. After an hour or two I take them out, mess my hair up a bit and spray some more.
The result. I love the big wavy curls! These rollers also create a natural and fluffy volume, which you unfortunately can’t see because of the beanie. I got them at Ricky’s in NY, but I think they have them at stores like Vita, or you could just order online if you want to try them. Super cheap :)
As you know I freshened up my color at Digg the other day, and finally I don’t have to apply half a can of dry shampoo to cover my roots anymore. Yay! Rune is, as always, a magical worker on my hair. He actually cut it a lot to, but honestly I can’t even tell the difference, that’s how long my hair was. Grows like crazy! He also cut my bangs a bit shorter, which I really liked :) Digg Hair Studio can be reached at 55321111.
I also got a reload of my favorite shampoo and conditioner, and a violet shampoo to prevent orange-y tones in my hair.
And my secret weapon for days I want lots of volume, the Dust It powder from Osis. The hair becomes quite sticky of this powder so it should be washed the next day, therefore I only use it for special occasions. But man, it works!!
Right now I’m hopefully in the air somewhere over North Africa. Tonje and her roomies are picking me up at the airport, and we’re headed straight out to dinner. Tomorrow Tonje is gonna show me around in her neighborhood, we’re gonna have lunch at her fave spot, then we’re going wine tasting. I’m super excited! See ya tomorrow, have a fun Saturday night sweetiepies♥
