Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions on which skin products I use, both for skin care and makeup. It’s of course flattering to be asked, but also kind of funny as I’ve never really worn as little skin makeup as I do now. I’ve said it many times before, but I always have small impurities in my face. I very rarely get those big pimples, but my skin is never completely smooth. Always these darn big pores and impurities. Luckily it’s not very visible though, but lately I’ve tried to simplify my skin routine to see if that helps. I actually think it has, and as asked – here’s the whole routine.
Step 1 – Moisturize
I’ve always loved to test lots of different moisturizes, and a big favorite has been Active Moist from Dermalogica. My mom advised me to try the A-Cream from the pharmacy instead though, and just stick to it. It’s what my grandmother always used, and she had the most incredibly skin. It was so smooth, and she didn’t have one little wrinkle, even at the age of 93. So I’ve been using this for a few months now, and the impurities has actually gotten better. I’m not a big fan of the consistency, I like a more moist moisturizer, but I will definitely just stick to this and see if my skin improves even more.
Step 2 – Conceal under the eyes
Something that’s a big must in my makeup routine is to cover those nasty dark circles under the eyes. To make the concealer sit, I use a primer first. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer makes the concealer stay pretty all day, and it’s hydrating at the same time. The concealer I use is from Clinique, and is called All About Eyes Concealer. I think it’s great because it’s pretty liquid and doesn’t cake up. Remember to put on very little, just a few dabs and you’re done. If you apply too much, it will just get cakey and get in the fine lines under your eyes.
Step 3 – Foundation
Then to the most important step, which I owe all the glowyness to. The mineral foundation powder from Tromborg in the color Sky. I’ve used this for years now, and I can’t get enough! Earlier I used to wear a liquid foundation underneath to cover redness, but now I only use this. There’s tiny shimmer particles in it, but very subtle, which gives a great glow. It covers well, and the color is just so pretty. Now during wintertime when I’m a bit paler than usual I put on a little bit of the color ‘Vanilla’ first, then I put this one lightly all over. Nothing beats the color Sky! The foundation is very skin-friendly, and I think I’ll be using this for as long as they make it.
Step 4 – Conceal
If I have a pimple or just red areas, I apply a little concealer. I have two that I really like – Makeup Store’s Eazy Cover in the color ‘blue’, and Mac’s Studio Finish Concealer in the color ‘NW25’. The first one is a little lighter and is the one I use the most, and I usually dab it lightly around my nose and on other red areas.
And that’s it! I love going through makeup tutorials online and try the different methods they use, but I always find it to be way too much. Moisturizer, primer, foundation, powder to set the foundation, bronzing powder, shimmer ++, all at once. I feel like I’m wearing a mask if I’m wearing all that at the same time, and I’m much more comfortable wearing less, even though my skin may appear more ‘perfect’ with all the other steps. If you want to try a new foundation, I can’t recommend the mineral powder from Tromborg enough. It’s so good!
Tomorrow I thought I’d make a little tutorial on my party makeup for New Years Eve, so I hope you like these makeup posts♥

Men i morgen, altså! :)

Bruker du a creme under øyene? :)
cathrineheienberg says
cathrineheienberg says
I knoow, samme her :)

Fine tips her!
