DIY Rose Body Scrub

I saw this DIY tutorial on Pinterest the other day, and I just had to try it. I just came out of the shower where I tested the product, and I can guarantee you that it’s f-a-b!! And not to mention super easy to do. What I love about DIY projects like this one is that it’s so perfect to give away as gifts. For every birthday or Christmas when I’m getting friends and family presents, I always try to add something homemade. It’s so fun to both give and get, and I know it’s appreciated on a whole new level when the recipient knows that I’ve put down time and thought into the gift. Just get a cute jar and hang a little note on it, and you have a perfect gift!

So, to the execution of it all. Here is what you need:

Olive oil and sugar is something most people have in their kitchens, and roses is something I personally think everyone should have in the house too. What’s great is that it doesn’t have to be fresh new flowers, you can use the petals from the ones that have already seen their best days. I didn’t measure anything, I just winged it.

Put everything in a blender, and mix it around for a minute or two..

Then you’re done, and left with a heavenly homemade body scrub which smells so heavenly of roses. The consistency is perfect for scrubbing away any dead skin cell, and it feels so smooth and luxurious. Olive oil is so amazing for your skin, and after your shower you’re left with silky smooth skin from the oil. I would seriously pay good money for the scrub in the store. It’s crazy because it was so easy to make, but I think it’s the best body scrub I’ve ever used!

  4. Oh Cath, I’m learning for exams whole day today, and only thing which relaxes me is music which I’m listening via my computer. Sometimes I visited your blog, but sadly there was nothing new on it. Oh how happy I was when I saw this beautiful post. I already know where and which kind of jar I will go buy tomorrow to check this great recipe. I only want to ask you will sugar melt??? Because it wouldn’t be body scrub anymore.

    I would recommend to you to check this recipe, which is an amazing cure for feet: Pour 4-5 litres of warm water in the bowl. Then add 2 tea spoons of soda (I don’t mean on drink soda, but chemistry soda – do you know on what do I mean? if not I would try to explain you again), and add a little bit of your shower gel. Mix that and put your feet into, for about half hour. Your feet would be incredibly soft. Great and sooo cheap! It is my best discovery in last time :D In the end you can put lotion on your feet, but it is not in the recipe, it is my practice :)

  6. Det der har jeg brukt i flere år :) elsker det. Man kan å tilsette litt honning i, gir også god næring til huden. Og etter scrubben bruker jeg å ta en avokado maske, som jeg lager av en mosen avokado med noen dråper sitron i. Lar den virke 15-20 min mens jeg lakker negler å sånt, for så å avslutte med å smøre ansikt og føtter inn med kokosolje. Perfekt home spa, som ikke koster mye! :-)

  35. Tusen takk for supert tips! Hvilken olivenolje brukte du til denne scruben? Jeg har gjort et forsøk og huden blir supermyk, men den lukter sterkere olivenolje enn roser og man vil jo ikke går rundt å lukte olivenolje når man kan lukte som roser ;)

  36. Jeg brukte en jeg har fått i gave fra Hellas, så jeg tror ikke du får tak i den her. Men det lukter litt olivenolje fra min også altså, tror ikke det er helt til å unngå :)
