DIY – Marble Plant Pot

14 Comments | Tips & Tricks

So I took the pictures for this little DIY project many weeks ago, but they’ve just been hanging out at my desktop without being blogged as I wasn’t very happy with them. I’m such a perfectionist when it comes to pics on my blog, hah. But today I thought the pictures could get to see the light of day, even though they’re not amazing. So this whole project started when I bought this cute little plant at Ikea, but I forgot to buy a plant pot for it. I didn’t really like the brown plastic pot, but I was too lazy to go out and buy a new one, hah.

Then I suddenly remembered that I have a marble paper laying around, with tape on the back side, from a craft store. Unfortunately I don’t know the term of this in English, but Google Translate tells me that it’s called ‘contact plastic’. It’s just like gift wrapping paper, just with a plastic surface and tape on the back. So I cut some fitting pieces to the pot, and checked if the contact plastic would hold..

..and it did! I covered the brown plastic pot, and suddenly it looked like a fancy marble pot!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is the result. Much better, right?

Her ser dere resultatet. Mye finere, ikke sant?

a7This contact plastic (or whatever the proper term is) can be used for so much! I’m obsessed with marble print, so this is just perfect. I actually saw pictures of a whole table covered in this contact plastic, and it looked amazing! A great way to make a regular white table look much more fancy.

The truth is that i love your pictures , but many of them are too white and we cannot see the details of the pot in specific or outfits in general!! :)

Yeah, that’s why I didn’t really like these pictures. But generally I love light pictures :)

I agree pictures are often too light and it’s hard to see details from the background and sometimes kinda painful to look at… but hey we all like different things! Happy Friday!

we all love your pictures , the light, the color , everything!! But sometimes , when the “item” or the background is also white , i guess less light during photoshop would be perfect!!
