Driving up to the Hollywood sign was too much fun. I got so overly excited, and just when we could spot the Hollywood sign from the road, guess which song started playing on the radio? The Hills’ theme song, ‘Unwritten’. I haven’t heard that song in years, it was so random! You can bet your ass I sang along the loudest as I could, even though people were watching me and my dance moves like I was a crazy person. Now we’re just home for a quick stop, before the rest of the day will be spent in Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Los Angeles – I love you!!!

Hi from Beverly Hills! It’s so surreal to be here, I can’t even tell you.. I’ve been dreaming about visiting for so many years, and at this moment I’m in the comfiest bed ever blogging in the middle of Beverly Hills, with Rodeo Drive as one of our closest neighbors. Our house is ah-mazing, it’s so huge and incredibly chic decorated. I don’t think I could love life any more right now!
After a four hour drive from the blistering desert heat, we arrived in a pretty cool LA. The afternoon and night was actually quite cold, but I’ll tell you, I’ve never been as happy to see goosebumps on my arms as I was yesterday. We’ve been walking around in a pizza oven for more than a week now, so actually not sweating balls while just walking around felt so good.
Our dining room..
The first thing we did when we arrived was exploring the neighborhood a bit. The famous Rodeo Drive is just a few minutes of walking away, yay! I’ve seen so many pictures of Rodeo Drive, and it was so fun to actually just stand where all the pictures I’ve seen have been taking from, and being there in real life. That’s always fun with traveling!
Rodeo Drive was filled with expensive stores, filthy rich people and a lot of plastic surgery, which is always fun to look at. I can’t even tell you how many women I saw with private drivers, fresh blow-dries, a facelift or two and the body of a barbie doll. I think Rodeo Drive must be one of my favorite spots to people watch! And let’s be honest, while in Los Angeles, it’s always fun to be on the lookouts for a celebrity or two. I wish I was cooler than that and didn’t care, but.. I’m not, hah. Therefore, I’ve come up with a codeword for my boyfriend and I if we spot a celeb, which is something as sexy as ‘løkrull’. Yesterday we saw 1¼ løkrull, which was so fun. I can’t wait to see many more!
Sushi and white wine is one of my favorite food combos, which was yesterday’s lunch. For dinner we headed to SUR, which is owned by Lisa in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I may, or may not, only have gone there to spot Lisa or the cast of her spinoff reality show. After that we headed to the movies, before we called it a night in our gorgeous Beverly Hills home.
Now it’s time to get the day started over here, and today exploring more of LA is on the menu. I hope you’re all having a good one♥
This Is How We Roll
Yesterday’s helicopter ride was such an amazing experience! I gave it to my boyfriend for his birthday, and we’ve both been so excited about it ever since. I was a helicopter virgin, and my boyfriend had already done it in the army, so I think I was a tad more excited. And man, what a cool invention a helicopter is!
I thought I’d be freaked out, but I actually didn’t find it scary at all. After the sunset safari I told you about last week, where the car we sat in flew off of a cliff, it’s gonna take more than a helicopter ride to make my knees shake. I’ll tell you this though, this is definitely not for those of you who are scared of heights! It was like sitting in a glass bubble far above the ground, and when the helicopter turned it would definitely have made me pee my pants (skirt) if it hadn’t been for the car flying I’d already experienced.
The first thing we flew by was Hoover Dam, which we visited last week. It was so fun to see it from the air!
After flying over desert, desert and more desert, we arrived in Grand Canyon, where we descended and enjoyed champagne and a yummy lunch. Now I’ve seen Grand Canyon from the bottom up too, so fun!
We’re doing so many fun things on this trip that I almost can’t keep track! This one will definitely go into the memory books though, so freakin’ fun! I can’t recommend it enough if you’re ever in the Vegas area, but remember that it’s no piece of cake if you’re afraid of heights. The other two women in the chopper sat prepared with barf bags by their mouths the whole ride.. I, on the other hand, sat there with the most excited smile on my face ever!
Today this is where we’re spending the day (sing ‘on the road again’ in your head now). I love the roads in the US, everything is just straight, so I can read my Cosmopolitan, Elle and Vogue without getting carsick. Yay!
Sunset Safari
Last night’s sunset safari was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life. I pictured a calm, relaxing and romantic drive through the desert, with excellent sunset views, strawberries and champagne. Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong if I tried! Let’s just say we drove around for three hours, but there was no actual road in sight!! We drove up and down on huge rocks, and I mean up and down. It didn’t even seem possible, but the car took us up almost straight mountain sides, and down the same way. Here’s the easy start to the trip.. Oh yes, he drove us in the biggest car I’ve ever seen, straight up this rock, which to be honest I would’ve had problems climbing with my own two feet (it was way steeper than it looks)..
At one point, the driver put his foot on the gas pedal on the top of a huge rock, and the car flew through the air before we landed with a bang. I think you probably could’ve heard my screams all the way home in Norway…
The desert in Moab is filled with real dinosaur footprints, which are between 160 and 180 million years old!! This is real, I kid you not..
Gorgeous views over Colorado River, which is where we rafted earlier in the day.. I seriously thought the rafting would be the scary part, and the sunset safari would be a piece of cake. It was totally the other way around! I’ll tell you more about the rafting later by the way, I managed to make the biggest ass out of myself ever! I’m still extremely embarrassed, hah.
Another one of the rocks we drove on.. This was one of the easiest ones, I couldn’t even hold my camera on most of them, it was way too scary!
It annoys me so much that the rocks doesn’t look as steep on the pictures as they were in real life. You can check out this video of people driving down the same rocks that we did (they survived FYI).
With my favorite people.. Normally I don’t like to share pictures of my family, but I love this photo too much not to share it.
My sis in the sunset..
Ah, what a day! I’m so glad I have these pictures, even though I know I won’t forget this day ever. I hope you don’t mind these touristy posts by the way, this is a fashion blog after all. I just think it’s so fun to share my experiences with you guys! As I mentioned earlier, Moab has really stolen my heart. I can’t recommend a visit here enough! If you’re ever here, you seriously have to do this sunset safari. Ask for Craig, our driver, one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met.
I hope you’re all enjoying summer as much as I am, where ever you might be in the world♥
The Jumpsuit
Jumpsuit + shoes: Zara (similar here, adlink) // Bag: Chanel
A classic jumpsuit is a piece every girl should have in her closet. This one from Zara has been worn so much! It has saved me many times when I can’t figure out what to wear for girls’ night out, and matched with flats it’s the perfect, and not to mention comfortable, everyday piece. It has come to good use here in Moab, like last night when we went on a sunset safari in the desert. I have to be honest, Moab is giving New York intense competition when it comes to my favorite city. I never in a million years thought I would fell so hard in love in a small city in Utah, with only 6000 people living here, and not a single Topshop or Zara in sight. The two days we’ve spent here, I’ll treasure the memories forever! We’ve seen incredible sights like the delicate Arch which I showed you yesterday, visited Dead Horse point, which is actually where they filmed the ending to ‘Thelma and Louise’ (if you haven’t seen that movie, do it. Now). We’ve rafted down the Colorado river, seen 180 million years old dinosaur footprints, driven down the most terrifying road ever which was only a couple of meters wide, and with steep cliffs 300 meters straight down on the side with no fence.. But my favorite experience, was last night’s sunset safari. I have never experienced such an adrenalin rush! Tons of pictures are coming up later. Today we’re headed back to Las Vegas, even though I’d rather spend some more days here to be honest. This city has stolen my heart! I can’t recommend a visit here enough if you’re ever doing a road trip in the US. Moab, I LOVE YOU!!!
Roadtrippin’
There’s nothing more annoying to a blogger than a bad wifi connection. I seriously spent all morning uploading these pics. There’s not a lot of things that breaks my usual good mood, but bad wifi brings out the monster in me. My poor boyfriend tried to cheer me up with ‘Do you want to cuddle in stead?‘, but the monster took over and cussed him out, haha. Bah…
So anywho, here’s (finally) some snapshots from the past days. We spent two nights in Williams, Arizona, which was such a fun place to see! The city itself is tiny, and is mostly inhibited by tourists who want to go to Grand Canyon which is an hour away. The whole town is based on the Wild West theme, with sherif offices, cowboys and shoot-out shows everywhere you turn.
Williams marks the start of the famous Route66..
The best thing about road trips is taking random pitstops at different pretty locations..
Mommybear..
We’ve enjoyed lunch at random diners by the road, yum!
Yesterday we spent 7 hours driving, and we finally reached our new destination which is Moab, Utah.
The drive was incredible, who knew the American desert could be so freaking beautiful? We picked up my sister, and it was so nice to see her again. Today she’s our tour guide, and she’ll show us all the prettiest spots here. My camera is of course coming with me, I can’t wait to share lots of pics!
I hope you’re all having a great day<3
Grand Canyon
The mighty Grand Canyon. Breathtaking, beautiful, unbelievable.. No more words needed!
Hoover Dam
Yesterday we drove by the famous Hoover Dam, and we of course had to stop and have a look. That’s what I really love about road trips; You always see something cool and interesting while driving, and you can stop and enjoy the amazing sights as much as you want. Hoover Dam is one of the biggest dams in the United States, and produces power and drinking water all the way down to California. The dam itself is massive and so freakin’ gorgeous!
We’re driving along Route66, which goes right over the bridge in the background..
The dam is located right on the border of Nevada and Arizona.. So cool!
Now we’re enjoying the morning in Arizona (it’s not even 7am here), and in a bit we’re off for Grand Canyon. I seriously can’t wait, I’ve always wanted to go there! It looks so incredibly beautiful. I hope you’re all having a great day♥
Las Vegas Snapshots
Las Vegas.. Where do I begin? It’s such a weird city to be honest, the whole concept is just so funny to me. A small city right in the middle of the desert, where millions come to spend money on gambling and of course party their brains out. Everything is huge and extravagant, with crazy details and gorgeous facades. Las Vegas Strip is the main street, which is actually over 10km long. Speakers are hidden in the bushes on the sidewalks, so wherever you go, you can count on some music to accompany you. We walked around the strip yesterday morning in the blistering heat, watched thousands of people gamble, lots of hungover bachelorette groups, and of course a lot of them were already drunk again. I don’t think I would spend too many days here, but it’s definitely lots of fun to just people watch, and of course check out the massive hotels and casinos.
Everything from Paris and New York to Egypt is represented on the strip. We’re talking real sized Eiffel tower, Empire State Building, Chrysler building and pyramids.
Oh hello there, tourist! I felt like such a tourist when walking around with my huge camera. Normally I like to try to blend in with the ‘natives’ a bit, haha. But the strip consists mostly just of tourists anyway, so I figured it was fine.. All I was missing was a fannypack to complete the look!
Inside Caesars Palace..
Cheescake Factory for lunch, yum!
The strip is filled with every luxury fashion house you can imagine. For me, good shopping isn’t exactly looking at stuff that is way out of my price range, so we headed to the South Premium Outlet in the afternoon. I didn’t find anything, but my boyfriend found loads. The selection for men was great, especially for basics like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein tees and shirts.
For dinner we headed back to Caesars Palace, as my bestie Ivan recommended us the restaurant Bacchanal which is located inside the huge casino. It’s a buffet with over 500 different courses, and needless to say, we almost had to roll out of there when we were done. The food was insanely good, so I definitely recommend a visit there if you’re ever in Las Vegas! We enjoyed sushi, pizza, burgers, seafood, different meat and salads. I’m still full from that dinner. I’ve started to grow a baby bump from all the food I’ve been eating here, so I think I need to take it down a notch from now on, haha.
The dessert buffet was just as incredible as the dinner buffet, and I made room for a few chocolate covered strawberries before I had to throw in the towel. To be honest, I don’t like macrons, I just added them to take a cute Instagram pic, haha.
While you’re reading this we’re on the road on our way to our new destination, see you when we get there♥
Las Vegas
Hello from Las Vegas!! After the longest trip over, I wish I could tell you that I’m enjoying life at the top suite of Caesars Palace, but unfortunately, reality is far from it. But I’ll get to that in a sec.
After a quick trip to Copenhagen, we started our 11 hour flight to San Francisco, enjoyed on business class. So incredibly luxurious, I almost didn’t want to leave the plane when we landed! After a few hour in San Fran, we continued to Las Vegas. The flight to Las Vegas was exactly like you would imagine a flight to Las Vegas on a Friday afternoon to be. Tons of bachelor and bachelorette parties, drunk people, free drinks, disco lights and the whole shebang. It was hilarious! I love to eavesdrop on other peoples’ conversations, which gave me plenty of entertainment for the trip. The three people behind me consisted of one lesbian woman, one very (!) drunk Chinese guy, and one girl who was sharing all her college stories, which the lesbian, Chinese guy and me greatly appreciated. The real fun started when the guy in the middle started going from inappropriate, to extremely inappropriate. One of the questions being ‘How do you get a lesbian marriage to work with no male pee pee?‘, and this was one of the mild ones. I almost had to bite my lip to not turn around and go ‘Oh no you DIDN’T!!‘. Luckily I saved myself the embarrassment, and the lesbian and the college girl did it for me anyways. Eavesdropping wasn’t my only entertainment on the flight to Vegas. I mean, WOW, I’ve never seen such beautiful landscape in my life. The mountains had the most gorgeous curves and edges, and combined with dessert and a sunset it was simply magical.
Okay, then to the hotel part. I f*cked up big time when making reservations!! As you know we left one day earlier than planned, and the night before leaving I booked another night at the nice hotel we’re staying at the rest of the weekend. Or so I thought.. I was so tired when booking, that I didn’t even notice that it was a completely different hotel I booked! Not to be a diva or anything, but when we entered what could be considered as a lobby, I thought two things. Number one; ‘This is the ugliest hotel I’ve ever seen‘, and two: ‘That guy is the most disgusting smelling creature I’ve ever had in my presence‘. We stood behind him in the line, before the craziest thing happened. Suddenly policemen stormed in, started yelling at him like crazy, arrested him and took him out of there, which he of course wasn’t pleased with and fought back. This all happened an inch from me, and my jaw dropped to floor-height. I couldn’t help but to laugh (after the crazy guy was arrested and in safe distance). To go from luxury life at business class, to the biggest shithole hotel where guests are being arrested without the reception staff even looking twice!! Again, not to be a diva or anything.. Haha.
The cherry on the sundae happened when we entered the room, which was of course as unappealing as you probably imagine from the previous information. The first thing my man said was ‘What’s all that yelling??‘, and I responded that the people next door must have some sort of bad reality show on really loudly. After a few minutes, we realized that it was no reality show, it was actually reality! Our neighbors fought like I’ve only ever seen on TV, which lasted well into the night..
Okay, I realize I sound like the biggest bitch right now. I just had to get this all out of my system, haha. I have absolutely no photo that goes well with this incredibly weird blogpost. I could take a picture of our view, if it wasn’t for the fact that the back of a McDonalds is blocking it all. A little preview of a look from last week will have to be my rescue, I’ll post the full look tomorrow! Today we only have one plan; Get the f*uck out of here and move into the top suite at Caesars Palace!!
