Cali On My Mind

× Roadtrippin’ in the US last summer ×

Today while driving in the pouring rain, my thoughts went back to the amazing road trip we had in the US last summer. Three weeks in the states, with Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Moab and San Fran as some of the locations – so amazing! Come to think about it, I think that’s the last real vacation I’ve had, so it’s seriously about time with a trip soon, hah.

Other than that, I’m both happy and tired from a fun day. I drove two hours this morning to get to a place called Austrheim, where I spoke for almost 300 people for a full hour!! I think it went super well, and all the youth were so sweet. I’ve never held a lecture or whatever’s the right name before, so this was huge for me, but I’d love to do it again. When I was done I got the longest applause, flowers and lots of the lovely boys and girls came over for a chat – and I had to fight to hold my tears back!! Haha, I was so moved. I loved that they liked what I had to say, and thought that it helped!!

Now I’m gonna relax for the rest of the night, as I’m flying to Molde tomorrow for a book signing. Puh!! That vacay can’t come soon enough♥

Hi loves! This day has just flown by, and I’ve been working on this blogpost for hours. The electricity has disappeared several times, and I’ve had to start all over again. The publishing tool I’m currently using is so incredibly slow, and I can seriously read through different online newspapers and blogs while waiting for just one single picture to upload. After seven months of this, I seriously can’t wait to go back to WordPress again! That will happen one of the closest days, and the design will become a little cleaner as well.

So anyway.. My parents are doing their annual trip to warmer countries in the beginning of February, and now my two sisters have decided to join them. I’m of course also invited, but I’m not quite sure if I should go or not. I’ll miss so many classes already because of work trips I have coming up, and I don’t want to fall behind more than neccessary. While pondering about this very luxurious little issue, I looked back on the pictures I took in the US to see if that could give me an answer. I found lots of pics that have never been blogged, so I hope you’re not entirely sick of US pics just yet?

With my man on a cliff in Utah.. Of course he had to make a funny face on what was supposed to be a romantic picture, haha.

Las Vegas, with the bitchiest facial expression I’ve ever seen on myself, hah.. I was probably just hungry, as we stood on the entrance of Caesars Palace heading for dinner when this pic was taken.

Outside our rented Beverly Hills home, with no makeup and a brutal spray tan.. This entry though!!

Vegas in all its glory..

Santa Monica♥

In the desert somewhere between Las Vegas and Grand Canyon..

In the Vegas heat..

Our bedroom in Beverly Hills. Oh how I miss that bed! My spraytan of course colored off on the sheets though, and not just a little. Our landlord was probably very sweet, but she was also strikingly scary. I bet she could kill me with her little finger, so I was so incredibly nervous to tell her about the accident. I waited until the day we left, and I was totally on the verge of crying, hah. Luckily she was totally cool about it.

Details..

Golden Gate Bridge baby!

San Diego sunset..

My love ♥

Sunset along Highway 1..

We lived right next to this landmark, so cool!

Now it’s time to put on a show on the computer and relax a bit before bedtime, while the thunderstorm is out of control outside. I hope you’ve all had a great day♥♥

Think Pink

If there’s one thing I haven’t been able to get out of my head since our roadtrip in the US, it’s how much I want this car. I mean, how freakin’ amazeballs is it?! Everything from the lisence plate to the pink color is just beyond cool. Even though I couldn’t bring it home with me, I did a little photoshoot with it, I just couldn’t help myself, hah. This was in Williams, Arizona by the way, the most adorable little town with tons of cool vintage cars everywhere. Such a cool place!

Good morning sunshines! I’m starting this wonderful Friday off with a trip to the hair dresser, I can’t wait to fix my roots and get some more highlights. Later my friend Celin is coming to Bergen, so this weekend will be all about girltime out in the sun. Yay! The pics above are from Moab by the way, the sunset was so gorgeous that I just had to share a few more pics in addition to the ones you’ve already seen. This is definitely one of the most breathtaking sceneries I’ve seen!

Have a wonderful weekend angels♥

The Best Of The Rest Pt.II

12 Comments | USA 2014

Now that I’m home I have much better time to look through the pics I shot in the US. The time I had for blogging over there was very limited, so the pictures I chose to blog were very randomly selected. Here are some pics I like that hasn’t seen the blog yet, from the incredible sunset safari in Moab, Utah, where our jeep climbed the steepest rocks and mountains. So much fun! For some reason my pictures seem to loose quality when I upload them to the blog, they’re not as grainy as they appear here. I’ll look into it, but I hope you enjoyed them anyway.

Now I just got home from watching my team Brann win for the first time in forever with the fam, yay! And now it’s movie time with my sister, just the way I like my Sunday nights. I hope you’ve all had a great weekend♥

Malibu Pt.II

5 Comments | USA 2014

Malibu, I have no words! This must be as close to heaven on earth as it possibly gets. I mean, let’s all just take a moment and think about how freakin’ amazeballs it would be to live in this house..

..and have this as your backyard..

Splashing waves, beaches as long as the eye can see, happy people singing and playing guitar everywhere.. I love my garden, but I would trade a lawn for a beach any day!

Buying this house is definitely on my bucket list. I just need to get filthy rich first, because these houses ain’t cheap!

If you’re ever in the LA area, I definitely recommend spending a day in wondeful Malibu. The drive wasn’t as long as I thought at all, like 40 minutes from Beverly Hills. Another recommendation is visiting El Matador Beach, which you can see underneath. One of the most popular beaches there is Zuma Beach, which was filled with people and looked so over-crowded. El Matador Beach was much prettier, and there was almost no people there.

There’s several restaurants by the ocean, most of them pretty pricey for the rich and famous who live there. We chose a cheaper place, I just can’t justify spending hundreds of dollars on food. This restaurant was called Paradise Cove, and was super cosy and had yummy food.

I can’t wait to go back to Malibu one day, hopefully in the near future. In the meanwhile, Bergen is pretty great at the moment, with clear blue skies, sunny weather and happy people.

I took so many pictures in the US, so here are some unblogged ones that I like. I hope you’re not totally tired of my pics rom the US? I still have a few more in store for you from our amazing trip. Right now it’s all about enjoying summer in Bergen though, we have such perfect summer weather nowadays, I just want to run around outside all day. Now I’m off to hang out with my cousin for the rest of the night, who went on vacation the same day that I came home! We haven’t seen eachother in over a month, so I can’t wait to catch up on everything that’s happened over a glass of wine in the sunset. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day<3

A Day In The Desert

20 Comments | USA 2014

I for sure thought that visiting Los Angeles would be the highlight of our trip to the US. I’ve been dreaming about visiting LA for years, and I was more excited than ever to finally get to go there. Well, sometimes I surprise myself, because the real highlight was actually visiting the small town Moab in Utah. The only reason we went there was to pick up my older sister who had been doing research there for her master’s degree in geology. With 6000 people living there, in the middle of nowhere, I thought it would be a snoozefest. I ended up not wanting to leave, I couldn’t bare the thought of going to Las Vegas after experiencing something so pure, real, breathtaking and stunning! I guess Moab isn’t a natural stop for those of you who are also planning a roadtrip in the US, but I can’t recommend it enough! Everything from real dinosaur footprints dated 180 million years back, gorgeous desert, fun activities like rafting in the Colorado River, renting jeeps and driving through the crazy beautiful desert landscape and so much more can be found there. And of course, the most famous attraction; The Delicate Arch.

Isn’t it breathtaking? This is 100% natural, made through hundreds of thousands of years by mother nature.

In Arches National Park there are so many other pretty sights, like this huge rock that just pops out of nowhere..

My big sis.. Talk about a hot geologist!

If you’re ever visiting the park, keep in mind that the distances are long, and the hikes are b-r-u-t-a-l. The blistering desert heat is so overwhelming, you can’t even imagine hiking in it until you’ve experienced it..

Caught taking a breather.. Someone has been slacking on her cardio, that’s for sure.

I can’t wait to visit Moab again, it’s for sure happening at some point. Seriously, if I can give you one piece of advice in life; Go to Moab!!

Malibu must be one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere was so relaxed, the ocean and splashing waves make for the most wonderful views, the sunny weather, all the huge mansions.. I wouldn’t mind living there, that’s for sure!
