The City That Never Sleeps..

24 Comments | New York 2012

..fell asleep! Words can’t even describe how weird it felt walking around on Manhattan today.. Trees in the streets, almost all stores and restaurants were closed, and the few ones that were open didn’t have any electricity so they were completely dark, the subway is closed because of flooding, police and media everywhere, people crying.. It was a really depressing sight. Thank you for all your worries and for thinking about me, I’m totally fine. It was really weird actually, I didn’t even notice the storm, and I’m in the middle of Manhattan! I was watching the news all night with terrible live videos from Manhattan, and when I looked out of my window it was barely even raining. Weird! The only inconvenience for me was that I lost my wifi and it didn’t come back on before now, but who cares. I’m just glad the storm is over, and sad for the people who lost their lives. So heartbreaking! When I was walking around earlier today I saw several homeless people hysterically crying, which of course led to me crying, I just wanted to give them all a hug. This is not how I want to remember New York, I hope this never happens again!!

How crazy is this?!?

Closed off streets and police everywhere..

..and lots of media covering everything.

I’m glad I didn’t even notice the storm, I was lucky! As you know I was supposed to go home Monday night, but obviously my flight got cancelled. My dad managed to book me on a flight tomorrow night though (wednesday), and I’m super ready to go home! Right now I have a whole lot of packing to do, which seems like an impossible task. I’ve been shopping so much, and as all the stores have been closed I haven’t gotten a chance to get another suitcase. I guess I’ll have to travel in like six jackets, haha. Wish me luck, will ya?♥

Hurricane Survival Kit

52 Comments | New York 2012

Hi ladies :) A quick update from me in the middle of the storm, I’m perfectly safe (I hope) and just eager for this hurricane to be over with already. It doesn’t look too bad yet in my area, but I have a feeling that’s about to change. There’s still some daredevils out on the streets, but I’ve camped in my bed with Vogue and I intend to stay right here until Sandy is gone. There’s a good chance that the power here will be out, so if you don’t hear from me in a while, don’t you worry :)

My view at the moment..

Have a great evening sweets<3

Strolling The Streets

13 Comments | New York 2012

Hi guys :) So I just woke up, major sleeping in day today! I was walking around Manhattan all night, I was probably out for four or five hours, just walking. Manhattan by night is just so breathtaking! I found this amazing singer on Youtube who does cover songs, so I bought all of her songs on iTunes and listened to her on repeat when walking. I think my favorites are her covers of We Are Young and Titanium. Check them out! Some iPhone snaps from last night..

The first picture is from Limelight, a really cool place! It used to be a church, then it was a nightclub for a long time. Today it’s an adorable mall, filled with cute finds. Be sure to check it out if you’re in the city! Can be found on 29th street and 6th ave. The last picture is my old neighborhood, there’s so many memories that pop up when I walk there, it’s insane! When I moved here the first time I always walked around like last night, the lights and people you meet are just so inspiring. I remember walking around thinking about how fun it would be if the blog I had just started took off, and I also thought about how fun it would be to have a fashion column in BA or BT. I thought to myself “Should I email them and see if they’re interested?” but then I was like “Nah, they would probably want someone way cooler than me“. So fun to walk around in the same streets and actually live the life I pictured for myself two years ago. Now I’m headed out again, and I’ll take some pictures of my skirt in an outfit later! :) Have a great evening everyone back home♥♥

From My Bed

21 Comments | New York 2012

I really like my hotel room, and what I like the best is definitely the two big windows surrounding my bed. This is my view by day..

..and the same view by night..

I could seriously sit here and people watch forever, haha. Here is the view from the other window by the way :) Pretty!!

I’m a bit behind on my blogging right now as I’m out all day, but you guys are always so understanding so I guess we’re cool, right? No hard feelings? It’ll be better tomorrow, promise! Nighty night♥♥♥

On Sunday we went to Little Italy to have dinner, and it was simply magical. I can’t believe I’ve never been there before!! So incredibly cosy, lots of cute restaurants, and an amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

A Walk In The Park

17 Comments | New York 2012

Yesterday morning was spent in the park above all parks, Central Park!! I’m so stunned by how beautiful it is here, just amazing. All the details, both little and big, like the bridges, cute paths, all the attractions, and just the fact that they put out hay for the birdies. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning!

It was incredibly cold though.. I had to wear four sweaters under my jacket, plus scarf and gloves.. And I was still freezing. That damn wind!

After a few hours of walking my lips almost turned blue, so we hailed a cab and went home. We were really lucky with the cab driver. He had such control over the NYC traffic, that he could sit and read the newspaper while driving.. Very comforting!
