Now that I’m sick and my blogging creativity isn’t exactly at its best, I thought I’d let you in on a little beauty tips that is extremely budget friendly – in fact – totally free! I read somewhere that this is what celebrities do before big events to get that glowy skin we’re all aiming for, and at the same time it makes the makeup last so much longer. I had totally forgotten about it, but I’ve tried it a couple of times this week while waiting for my eggs to finish boiling (multitasking, haha). All I can say is; This works!!
Celebrities apparently use a steam shower, but for us who don’t have that kind of luxuries this works just as well. Simply apply your foundation and powder like normal while you’re boiling water. Wait a few minutes, and then expose your face to the steam from the boiling water. Don’t do it to the point where it starts dripping, but you should really feel your skin getting warmer and a bit moist. The makeup will seriously just melt into the skin, and when you’re done you’ll have a perfect glow. My skin is really dry right now, and even with my crackled skin it still works. I’m definitely doing this the next time I’m going out!
I’ve gotten a few questions on what skin makeup I use, so I thought I’d update you as I get new favorites all the time. The Dior Forever foundation has been my favorite for years, but I needed a lighter one for my winter skin, and decided to take Amalie’s advice and try her favorite; the Sensai Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet foundation from Kanebo. I absolutely love it! I have the color FV203 Natural Beige which is a bit light for me, but I put a bit of the mineral foundation powder from Tromborg on top which gives me a bit more color. I also have a new favorite concealer for under the eyes, the Nude Magique BB Concealer from L’oreal. It’s so thin and delicate, and it’s the first one I’ve tried that doesn’t cake at all.
For going out I also use a mineral illuminating powder from Tromborg. There’s a lot of shimmer in this, so I just use a tiny bit, but it works wonders.
Now I’m curious to know, do you guys have any untraditional beauty tips, whether it comes to makeup or skin care? I love trying new things, so I would love to hear about it if you have any tricks up your sleeves :)
