As you know I sometimes do posts for the Norwegian store Coverbrands, and what I think is so fun is that I get to pick both the themes and the products. I’m obsessed with being tan and I always love a hint of bronze, especially for summer. For this post I chose products that I’ve been eyeing for so long, it was so fun to finally try them!
Here are the products I chose for the bronze theme. A new self tanner, a bronzing body oil with the most heavenly scent, an eyeshadow palette, a mineral foundation stick and a lipgloss.
The result after trying the products.. I love the look, perfect for summer!
The self tanner I applied last night, and I woke up with a perfect summer tan this morning. I’m extremely picky when it comes to self tanners and I’ve tried so many, but this one definitely made the cut! It was simple to apply, dried quickly, smells good and left no streaks. I know a lot of you struggle with applying self tanners, so I thought I’d share my routine. First of all a shower with a good body peel is necessary. Scrub away every dead skin cell there is! When I get out of the shower I apply body lotion and let it dry in before I start with the tanning. With this self tanner I didn’t need to use gloves or a mitten, which is a big plus. Some self tanners just won’t come off the inside of my hands when I’m done applying, but this one came straight off with the help of some warm water. So anywho, I just apply it like regular body lotion, but I’m careful around the hands, elbows and under my arms. The hands are the trickiest place to get even, the secret is to smudge the tanner out well to avoid streaks. I apply a small amount on my hands, then I wash the inside of my hands well. Try not to splash water on your arms and the rest of your hands while doing this, only the insides need a good wash. After that I apply a small amount of bodylotion between my hands, and I carefully smudge it around my fingers and wrists. It’s hard to explain, but I hope you get what I mean. It seriously takes 5 minutes, and the color stays for a full week!
This self tanner is amongst the best I’ve tried, and I warmly recommend it. It is very easy to apply, so it will be perfect for those of you who don’t have too much experience with self tanners. The lotion is colored, so it’s very easy to see where streaks would occur. The name says that it’s “Ultra Dark”, which I didn’t think it was. I expected to wake up with a reeaally dark tan this morning, but it was more like a medium tan. I don’t mind at all, I prefer it that way, I just thought I’d mention it.
You can find it here.
Then we have the Too Faced Royal Oil, a bronzing oil with a heavenly smell of coconut. My boyfriend actually told me I smelled like summer when I put it on, even he loved it. It’s super easy to apply, and it leaves my skin looking glowy, fresh and tan. It’s very shimmery so for daytime I’ll probably blend it with a little body lotion, but for going out it’s perfect like it is. I absolutely loved this one!! This is seriously glowy and tan skin in a bottle, such an easy way to look ten times fresher.
You can find it here.
Then we have the eyeshadow palette, which is without a doubt my new favorite. The colors are just beautiful, and it works perfectly for both daytime and going out. When it comes to eyeshadows bronzy ones and plummy ones are my favorites, it’s what I always wear, so I simply loved this palette!
Here I used the one called “Spotlight” as a base, meaning I put it on my eyelids all the way up to my eyebrows. I also put it under my eyes. Then I used the one called “Full Moon” on my eyelids, it’s a light color with the perfect amount of shimmer. When I put on eyeshadow I always keep it light on the inner corner of my eye, and darker and darker outwards. I put “Eclipse” on the outer corners of my eyelids, it’s the most gorgeous shade of shimmery plum. I also put it on the crease (globallinjen). Before I put on the eyeliner I used a small brush and applied “Cocoa Star” from the middle of my eye and outwards, just above the lash line. Under my eyes I used the color “Nightcap” from the middle and out.
You can find the palette here.
I also tried a new mineral bronzer, which has both the powder and the brush in one product. A big plus for that! You can change the powder part by just buying a refill when you run out, you don’t have to buy a brand new product. I like that! This bronzer was really easy to work with, and the powder melted into my skin. A huge plus is that you can adjust the size of the brush like on the pictures. I used it full size to swipe some powder lightly all over my face, and I made it smaller for when I put it under my cheekbones. So easy to work with, and it gave a perfect natural glow.
You can find it here.
Usually I like my lips bright pink, but with this look I just wanted to keep them fresh and natural. This lipgloss had the perfect shade of more natural pink, and it stays on for hours. I have the color ‘nude’.
You can find it here.
Here you can see the consistency of the different lotions..
As usual, Coverbrands has been kind enough to make a discount code for my readers on the products I’ve tested! The code is ‘vcex8′ and gives you a 20% discount until May 24th.

Veldig bra innlegg!

Takker for alle gode tips fra deg. Jeg ønsker å prøve selvbruningskremen for kroppen og brukte koden du gir; vcex8, men på vei til kassen fikk jeg svar at denne er ugyldig. Er det riktig kode eller?
cathrineheienberg says
Denne hadde egentlig ingen lukt, luktet bare vanlig bodylotion :) Ikke noe ille! Så bra at du likte det :)
cathrineheienberg says
