A Finishing Touch + Winners

17 Comments | Apartment

Hi sweets♥ I’ve spent the day in a meeting and doing boring paperwork, not the most exciting day to blog about. It looks like June is going to be pretty hectic so I’m trying to get as much as possible done in advance, in stead of running behind as I usually am, haha. In my little paperwork break earlier I headed to the post office and picked up my new cow skin rug which I just have to show you. I’m so happy with it!! I’ve been looking for either a cow skin rug or a zebra rug for ages, but I’ve never found the size I wanted. It’s for my little home office corner, and it’s the perfect finishing touch to make the space look stylish and chic. I was pretty nervous as it wasn’t exactly cheap, and I ordered it from Ebay. Turned out it was way more perfect than expected. And the biggest plus of all, it matches my dog Bella perfectly, haha!

Isn’t it pretty? It’s real and from Brazil. I love it!

Bella absolutely loves it! She eats, sleeps and plays on it. Beyond adorable!♥

And to the winners of my previous giveaways! The winner of the Zalando gift card is Christina, and the two lucky winners of Bianco gift cards are Bente and Nina. I’m emailing you as we speak, congrats girls! Now I have to carry on with my work, hope you’ve all had a fabulous day♥

This is awful. Even the cow skin is awful, but you were looking for zebra skin too? I really thought you were a sweet girl and had some compassion in your heart but obviously you are very shallow. Too bad.

It is of course a matter of taste, but I do not think that looks pretty at all. Like having a dead cow in the middle of the room. Poor cow.

I have to say that I don’t find this pretty at all, but I guess I am more aware of how animals are treated and I would like to know before I buy/eat something that the animal has had a good life and was treated well and did not suffer when it was killed.

I don’t know if you have ever seen how the chinese dogs are skinned alive, just for the fur. They lie on the ground almost passing out from pain. There are so many videos on youtube about this subject. I think it is awfull how we treat animals, even cows, pigs and chickens in europe.

What you wouldn’t expect was the wool, that your hat from topshop is made of, these sheeps is being totured. Pretty much all wool we recieve around the world is from Australia. What the farmers do is that they take so much wool from the sheep, that it can’t keep the heat from the sun out which often results in a painful death. Most farmers also abuse their sheeps and hhits them in the face.

We need to be more aware of this and buy organic and ask how was this animal treated?! If more people are aware and ask there will be an interest in this from the companies producing to the fashion industry as well as the supermarket’s eggs and meat.

Thank you Cath. I didn’t mean to sound harsh (if you think I did), I just wanted to inform you of something you might not know and I hope that you will learn more about this and think of what you buy in the future.

You have such a great blog and I love your writing skills. Keep up the good work.
