In the bewilderedness of what to do, where to go, who to talk to in the middle of this indescribable tragedy, Lisa and I went to the Norwegian Seamen’s Church. I’m so glad that I went. Even though I don’t consider myself religious, it was so nice to spend some time there.. Light candles for the victims and everyone affected, write our condolences, and pray. Lisa said a wonderful prayer for Norway, for the victims and their families and friends, and for me. It was very touching, and I couldn’t hold back my tears. I recommend everyone who’s in New York to pay them a visit. I felt incredibly welcome there. The people who work there are so nice, and offered us someone to talk to and even waffles and coffee. They’re having a service today at 5pm, if anyone wants to attend. My heart and thoughts go out to everyone affected in this tragedy, I’m completely devastated, but at the same time I feel incredibly lucky and proud to be Norwegian. I love my country, I love our democracy, I love that we stay united and I love that this won’t break us. Love Cath <3

You can find the church at 52 street between 1st and 2nd avenue <3

Sounded like a good idea Cath, it was good to have a forum to express the feelings that need to be released and share them with others. You write very well, and I think maybe it seems like you are a role model for many readers, and that responsibility and the platform allows you to help so many Norwegians cope with the aftermath and is a good step toward getting back to normal.
condolences, peace, and love to all!
